Our family has been in Sierra Leone, West Africa since January 2010 where we will live and work for 6 months. We have been sent by an organization called World Hope Canada and currently are based in the town of Kamakwie in the north of the country. Our project focuses on improving the democratic engagment of young people by addressing the quality of education in the classroom. We are working with 5 different schools and piloting a peer-education program. We also hope to do some training and capacity building with teachers and principals to ensure future sustainability.
